About Us

National Tea Research Foundation (NTRF) jointly set up by Tea Board, Tea Industry and NABARD and recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) is a research body functioning in the Tea Board since 1988. The Chairman, Tea Board is ex-officio President of NTRF. NTRF provides funds for innovative research on all aspects of tea throughout the country in different renowned research institutes and universities. NTRF was created at the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India with a onetime subscription from tea industry and a grant from NABARD to build a corpus of Rupees Ten Crores. 

FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES

CORPUS FUND

 One time contribution towards creation of Corpus fund from the tea industry of North and South India, and NABARD over the years forms the core of NTRF fund. The tea industry so far contributed Rs.46.76 million and NABARD contributed Rs.24.22 million to the NTRF fund (till 31st March, 2016), totaling a corpus of Rs.70.98 million. The benefit accrued from this fund was utilized in carrying research activities in different specialized fields.
